The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) established a “Task Force” after the Germanwings Airlines accident in March 2015.

2016

This formation, in accordance with the 6th recommendation of the report published on July 16, 2016,

  • • For all aviation businesses,
  • • Within the framework of a work environment that does not involve punishment,
  • • Without compromising the principles of Just Culture,
  • • In a secure environment, in a manner that respects confidentiality,
  • • It recommends the implementation of a transparent, independent pilot support programme.

2018

The obligation of aviation operators ESPECIALLY to implement and maintain a pilot support system was introduced by the EU Commission with Commission Regulation No.2018/1042 of 23 July 2018.

Later, this support system started to become widespread for cabin crew, technical personnel and similar operational personnel.
